Are the 1996-2005 almost the same?

Are the mechanical parts almost all the same? As I read the webpages it seems to me that there were very few changes to the Astro since '96....or was it '95? I think dual front airbags came as standard equipment on 96 and later.

1996-2005 do share a lot of parts, it really depends on the system though. I looked up distributors earlier today and found that 1996-2005 all used the same part. 2003-2005 uses different drive train parts. I think you are right about the air bags.
