Has anyone every done face to face seating in the rear?

Post by pengyou »

By "face to face" as opposed to everyone looking forward. I have seen some motorhomes where the rear part of the vehicle had the 2 sets of seats arranged so that they were facing each other and had a small table in the middle.

Those pedestals are available at any motor-home supply. They swivel.

Thanks! That certainly is a good idea. But what I am talking about is 1 bench seat that is mounted - attached - to the passenger side wall in the back facing the driver's side and one bench seat attached to the dirver's side of the van in the rear facing the passenger's side. That way, if 4 people are sitting there they can look at each other - or out the window.

Great idea, I don't think you can without some mods though. The anchor points are off center, No? The seat belts may not connect correctly either. I love the idea though!

Ive seen it done in the permanent convertible astros. I think boopvanner had one like that and I know there were some pics of others on the "OTHER SITE". I would imagine someones done it to one with a roof also though, just not sure Ive seen it.

I've set them in the mounts face to face a couple times. It's ok, but without a table for playing cards or something, I felt it was somewhat pointless, plus I had some interesting seat belt routing.

Like ihatemybike alluded to, the stock Astro bench seats are able to be turned around easily with no mods. I find it great for drive in movies. Back into a spot, open the rear doors and enjoy!
