Cool!

Those are a bit fancier than my Sponge Bob and my daughter's Strawberry Shortcake $1.50 Wal Mart kites! :muhaha:

I've been flying now for almost 10 years, both for fun and in competitive flying. The competitions are actually a lot of fun, I fly two disciplines, Precision and Ballet. In Precision you are given 3 geometric figures that you have to fly utilizing the entire wind window and are judged on how well you control your speed, how well you fly the figure. For example, I'm given the simple circle to fly...well lemme tell ya it ain't so simple when you are doing with a kite in variable winds! Eggs! You want eggs? Eggs I can do but circles?? *grumble mutter*

I'm more into what are called quad kites now or 4 line kites. Just means you fly with handles and there are four lines going to the kite, like the ones below...

The other thing I enjoy is Aerial ballet, this is where you choreograph your flight to a piece of music and are judged on how well you interpret that music and fly to the beat! It's rather stunning to see when it's well done! I'll post a couple of links for you to have a look at!

cheers!

I just drug my wife in to check out the quad video,,,unreal,,I never knew you could have that much control over a kite. I'm impressed and I haven't been impressed since around 1971.LOL :yawinkle:
