Ok...new encoder motor arrived. Going to replace it right now. In about an hour, I'll know if it was that or not... :bounce:

Stink. So I am i the throws of replacing the motor...but cannot get the front driveshaft out of the TC so I can pull the last mounting bolt out of the encoder motor. I PM'd a couple of you...and I'm throwing this out in case anyone can help me figure this out before tonight. I'm supposed to leave to head home for Christmas tonight...and this is our only vehicle at the moment so I can't even drive to autozone to get a haynes. put myself in a pickle this time. :-s

After a 1 hour search on the web using a bazillion different search strings, I finally found a post on a blazer site where someone explained that you need to use a prybar to pry in-between the yoke shield of the driveshaft and the TC. Did this...and "pop" it came out! Encoder motor replaced...Service AWD light gone...and AWD fixed and working PERFECTLY...no delays! Played around in the snow for about 15 minutes just to be sure! My life just got better! :bounce:

So, since the summer of 2009, the van now has all of the following done:

Transmission fluid and filter flush/and change
Front and Rear Diff fluid drained and changed yesterday
Transfer Case fluid drained and filled 2 weeks ago
Transfer Case Encoder Motor replaced today
Brakes all around replaced
Oil Changed Mobil 1 Synthetic Extended Performance filter and oil
New tires all the way around
4 wheel alignment
Regrease of all hinges, including hood and slider door mechanisms
Full interior carpet steam clean
Dutch door leak fixed with custom fab
Left dutch door gutted and now contains emergency tools
Oil cooler lines and manifold delete are set for January

And I've owned the van for 1 month :bounce: Now...time to do something else...like clean the garage
