I can't find a tag or code on my rear axle anywhere. It's definitely not where the Helms says it should be.
Anyone have any ideas how I can identify which ratio I have?
From what I can tell, my van does NOT have a towing package so I would assume it's one of the lower ratios (ie 3.42).
Axle Code/Ratio
Look on the RPO sticker inside your passenger door.... it looks like this...
![Image](http://astrosafari.com/images/rearaxle/RPO5.jpg)
look for any codes begining with "G"
GU2 2:73 ratio
GU4 3:08 ratio
GU5 3:23 ratio
GU6 3:42 ratio
GT4 3:73 ratio
GT5 4:10 ratio
GQ1 Open Differential Rear Axle
G80 GOV-LOC Rear Axle
I have been looking for a used rear for my van and have found that of the 15 vans I have looked at they have all been GU5 or GU6... which sucks for me having a GT4

Axle Code/Ratio
Thanks Someone....
I have the GU5 (3.23), which is what I was afraid of.
My label does not have another code that starts with "G" (GQ1 or G80), but I would assume it would be the standard diff.
Can anyone confirm that the 3.73 is what comes with the factory towing package?
I would be a bit leary about going all the way to a 4.10.

The RPO sticker may be found in one of three places on different year vans, depending on the year. Earlier vans (like mine) had them in the glove box, some on the doors, and a few in the engine compartment. Not sure on the year/location breakdown, but next time I get off my fat rump I'll look it up.
