did they make these things?

Post by patgizz »

i was on my way to work and in a driveway i saw a plain white shorty cargo astro - obviously 94-down from the old front end, and being a shorty. it was clean, so my head turned to see.... dutch doors!

did they make the shorty old cargo vans with dutch doors or did someone get creative? i'd love to have dutch doors on the work van, it makes more sense being able to close the lowers and have stuff stick out the hatch than it does to have the back doors tied shut and have to make sure nothing small can slide out the back.

might be able to get a pic if they live at the house since i go past it often.

While not a commonly optioned together they were available. There is a two tone brown one that I often see when I go to my in-law's place.

Yep, they were an option! If the rear glass is tinted, it was probably someone being creative. But if it's clear glass, it was most likely a United States Postal Truck. USPS was for awhile running cargo shorty stros with dutch doors. I talked to a guy that had one and asked if he did it himself and that's what he told me. =D>
