Yesterday I picked up a trans and t case from a 99 Astro for $250. The guy would not split them up, but I still feel it's a good deal. It came with the heat sheild, dipstick & tube, torque converter, t case support and from drive shaft (prop shaft). The closest t cases I've found have been 50 to 200 miles away. Core = $50 + Gas = 3.10/gal. I fugured It was going to cost me around $200 to $250. The guy I bought mine from has had them since summer on CL and was wanting $350 for all. I guess I got him at the right time. He told me $250 and I ran out the door.

I appears that you don't have a G80 locking rear diff...

(My point being, don't necessarily try this at home, folks :-)

That's because the rear axle wasn't spinning fast enough to engage the limited slip diff, so it was behaving like an open diff. Likely, the passenger rear drum brake was touching so all the power was going to the more free-spinning wheel.

In subsequent videos, we applied more throttle, the G80 grabbed and both wheels spun:

(unfortunately you can't see much because it gets dark so early)

Everything was A-OK.

I could never find the atc fuse on my 2000 safari awd. Which one is it? Just recently pulled the abs fuse for hub problems (not repaired yet). Thanks.

It's labeled ATC right in the middle.

Thanks. Mine does not have a "map" on the cover. Fuse is good. It seems as though the encoder motor is not kicking on. I've heard you can run a straight 12v to it without damaging it (for testing). Correct?
