Since the compressor is cycling, you need to have it re-charged. Gotta find the leak first though.

Thanks for your response, what makes you think there is a leak?

I'm trying to find a garage that will check & re-gas the A/C, proving difficult here in the UK!

There is a low pressure cut-out that makes it cycle when low on charge. To test this, find the low pressure switch on the accumulator and unplug it and jump the connector out. The accumulator is the aluminum canister located on the passenger side of the engine compartment and it has a hose on one side and the other port goes to the heat/A/C distribution box. The switch is on the back side.
