Yesterday I hauled home a set of front brake/hub/CV assemblies for one of my old Saabs, scored a Schwinn road bike at the same time and on the way home I found a cheap hydraulic pipe bender for $10 at a yard sale.

Today I installed a set of front window vents.

Jeep's engine is in a bad way. Appears a remanufactured engine is the best idea for our long term plans. Trying to figure out how to swing it. Worst case, the one head is fixed and we drive on it until we can afford the engine.

they are when you dont have a 36mm box end wrench avaialable to get it loose.

But i was able to borrow a set from the auto parts store and its done now...here is to hoping it helps the van run a little cooler. (which wont be easy with all these 100 degree days...)

Big adjustable and a big box end (size doesn't matter) works for me. Adjustable on the big nut, box end placed over water pump pulley bolt to keep water pump from spinning.

the 36mm is a saving grace and i'm glad i bought it. with belts on one sharp blow from a rubber mallet is all it takes to remove the fan

97 last night: got the temp gauge up to red zone without setting and warning lights off. started driving temp went down to normal till i stopped again......

98:drove to work while day dreaming..... probably not a good idea

Eugene: Dropped the Jeep's head off at NAPA.

Grumpy: Finished the transfer case / Corvette servo swap that I started way too long ago. Swapped the lousy E-Torx head bolts that they use on the front drive shaft with socket hex cap bolts. These will be much easier to remove in the field if needed.
