have you checked your battery connections (both secure)?. I've had cars where they would crank over then die because of a loose battery connection.

Just for my own benefit, and to track my mpgs.

No online recording, other than here, and with member... AstroJ.

Although, I am very impressed with the increase in my mpgs. And I only changed one thing...

Check your fuses too. I have noticed that when the fuse marked "lights" in the box is out. It will turn and catch but not run.

I assume if it is blown the same would occur.

replaced my rear shocks (with monroe air shocks). so far I'm lovin the ride quality. I was in a hurry so I put too much air in them (gives van a 2 inch rear lift when empty) but it handles marvelously (at least the rear does). the old shocks could be compressed and extended by hand with no rebound. drove down a gravel road and when it stepped up to pavement the front bounced around like crazy, but the rear went up smoothly with no harsh rebound or bottoming out. also took it down a curvy road and the rear end was always in toe and the back half of the van didnt rock at all. I wouldnt say it was harsh, just comfortable and not bouncy.

Got the gas tank out of the shop van.Once I empty it,going take out the pick-up to see what a carb version pick-up looks like.Pictures to follow.Going to junk the tank it's self with the van.Took out the drive-shaft to save the tranny yoke for storage of trannies and junk the rest of it.Still debating if I want on my back want to save the tranny.Hate the thought of junking a good tranny.Trying to balance the pack rat in me with the time I am spending on this.

Why not save every serviceable part from the junker and put them on Craigslist? You could make a few extra bucks to offset the cost of this project.

Dean told me when I junked the body of the donor van,"you sure you want to get rid of that?".Boy do I know how that feels when you come across something you had, junked it,and then have to go buy it.But I am getting tired of walking around it in the shop and I need to have the guy who is going to cut the roof on Ole Yellar come over and measure the cut out for a pattern and then the guy who is hauling it away look at it because his guy is going to install the roof on Ole Yellar.Just seems a matter of priorities and now time management.I need to spend the time on finishing the projects I have on hand.

Drove Great A'tuin from Boise to Moscow, ID with 3 bikes and a week's worth of gear. Headed to the Coeur D'Alene Trail tomorrow.
Got about 17mpg through the mountians and w/crazy 4th traffic.
