Hello from Western Washington

Post by gmcsasquatch »

Hi guys, I just bought my first safari van. It's a 1991 awd. Got it for my window cleaning/janitorial business. I am waiting for some snowflakes because I really want to test out it's snow ability. I decided that I want to learn everything I can about my rig so I can maintain it and run it at optimum levels of performance and save $$ by not having to take it to the shop for everything.

It's a short body. Seems like I can fit plenty of stuff in there, though. I like that I can navigate in parking lots and downtown easily. I use it for my window cleaning company and am driving it a lot in downtown areas doing storefront window cleaning. Other longer vans were a real PITA as far as pulling in and out of parking spots, paralell parking and so forth. The Safari is great as far as manuverability.

Nice!
Short box AWD are harder to find.
If it also had Dutch doors it would be really rare.

But Hey!!
We all know the Squanch is ever elusive, but...

That's because we don't salt our roads out in Western Washington!
Looking for this van, I saw super clean Astros from the 80's. Heck we have tons of fords and chevys driving around daily from the 60's.

My wife's from the east coast, she says all the vehicles older than 5 years old are all rusted out.

Ain't that the truth! If you get 10 years out of a vehicle you are doing good here. Any idea what it would cost to ship one of those clean 1990 to 1995 AWD's back East? :yawinkle:
