After sitting three days, Grumpy had to be jump started to move it back onto the driveway. Walked Grumpy's original rear axle to the recycling center down the street from my place. 130lbs @ $.10 for a total of $13, I'm rich.

Today I used my compressor to blow all the dust and leaves from the inside of my van and because I am putting a 1993 Astro dash and assembly into my 89 Safari along with the previously installed wire harness. Last fall removed the entire interior and cleaned and then undercoated everything that is steal. When I am done I will have the complete interior sound proofed and a combo of interior parts from three different vans and a tahoe truck.
To include the dash as mentions=ed from a 93 Astro seats from a 94 Safari the plastic panels from a 92 Astro shorty the console from the tahoe (same vehicle the engine came from) all other panels including the headliner are being made by me.
Recently bought a 1989 Astro RS from Florida. Replaced stock engine witha 1997 5.7 vortec with TBI and replaced transmission with rebuilt 700R4 with mild shift kit.
Bought on Monday the 16th of April 2012

Double checked all the bolts on my 2" lift that I installed yesterday then mounted the bumper and fascia. Still haven't figured out how to remove the old emergency brake bracket from the lines. Need bigger tires now so will probably blackmail Les Schwab into putting on the new bracket since I'm buying new tires from them. Love the new look with the lift. :guitar:

I finally got my 300A alternator from DCPOWER. It only took three weeks. I know it needed to be custom built, but damn that was a long wait. It looks nice. Sorry, no pix yet. Now I just need to order a few hundred bucks worth of wire and terminals and I can get going on my electrical upgrades.

I had to go and get a new project that is diverting all my money away from my van. #-o I was hoping to get another van but I got sidetracked. Damn you Craigslist.

10.4 on the Craigs List. I end up buying there but can't seem to sell anything. I have my '06 Colorado on there now as well as the 2000 Astro LT parts. One sniff on the Colorado and none on the Astro stuff.

I swapped grilles / headlights between my '04 Cargo and the 2000 Parts van with quad headlights I have here. Easy to do but time consuming as you have to remove the radiator and battery among other stuff.

repalced the rear hatch shocks

and I hear ya on the craigslist stuff
I've had astro parts and trans am parts on there for months
I've only sold my van core support (to a forum member) and my bumper and have barely had a nibble on the trans am parts.
I would have thought the front end parts would have sold quicker considering a good percentage of astros (and trans ams) are rolling around town with smashed in front ends.

Yup, thanks to badassastro Pro-streetin' his machine....I got his unwanted sway bar..

Fitted it yesterday, been driving around tonight, im very happy with it!....its weird but very nice to not have so much body roll and somehow, the general ride quality of the van is way better..

I do still have the orig' fiber leaf springs, would prob be even better if i replaced those, right?

I like the composite springs better. The anti sway bars are a big help for the handling of our vans imo.

Changed my spark plugs and wires.I researched the job using this site and some other online resources and everything went well.I started with the #5 plug and went from there. It seems this is a "rite of passage" for owners of this van.Thank-you to all those that have gone before and posted there tips and tricks. =D> Those little plastic clips for the spark plug wires seemed to give me the most trouble believe it or not.I am humble.Thank-you. :prayer:
