Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
I just randomly met a fellow member at the gas station this morning! How cool is that?!!! My gf tells me all the time she sees a van just like mine around the neighborhood. Too bad he wasn't driving his Strofari....no side by side pix! Hopefully he'll be popping by the site again soon...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Ever since I went to the electric fan, the AC doesn't run so cool around town.
So I fixed it!
I got the Porsche 928 fan at the pick-a-part for $16. Wired it in via one of my SAAB relay. The relay is triggered through the A/C
circuit so it only runs when the A/C is on.
I just drove around town in 103 heat and it kept the interior chill and the radiator at 175.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Finally got around to fixing that door lock button/wire issue. Drivers side hasnt worked since I bought it, I am so used to not using it I dont even know if it was worth it, I probably wont hit it out of habit. Previous owner did a terrible job trying to fix it, no wonder I have two left calipers on the rear, this guy was a worse mechanic than I am!
1st, I took off the panel of both doors, and popped in the working switch from the passenger side, hoping I could replace the switch rather than chase wires. That one worked so I knew it was a wire, grabbed the multimeter and had no power coming from the orange wires, they are constant. Found where the wires come out down by the floor and tested there, yup, they have power, so the problem is between the floor and switch. Check by where the door hinge is as thats the common spot, and low and behold the previous owner had already tried to fix it. I knew before I even unwrapped his electrical tape that there would be no solder on the fix.....and I was correct. He tried to crimp 1mm of wire to the others, like that had any chance of holding.

Replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket Kenwood..
Nice to have a remote and aux input..Since I bought the van I never liked how far away the radio is mounted from the drivers seat.
I'm not an audio guy, but now I want to start upgrading the speakers as well. Should probably start with the two that are blown back in the dutch doors.

Does that fan pull air inward or outward? How does it fit with the grille on?Great A'Tuin wrote:Ever since I went to the electric fan, the AC doesn't run so cool around town.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Drove to my local fastener supply store in town here, and bought:
4 -12x130mmx1.75P & 2 -14x130mmx2.0P - grade 10.9 Bolts.
they are hex heads, in stock on the shelf, and cost about 15 bux for the 6 bolts.
Guess where these go, and what they do......

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
It's a pusher fan with plenty of room for the grille but I had to notch the fan ring and put a few washers behind the core support to get full coverage from the fan. If I do it again, the fan will be smaller/thinner97CargoCrawler wrote:Does that fan pull air inward or outward?
