Green: Installed the new Moog idler arms and greased all the steering linkage.

Grumpy: Filled the tank and didn't believe the pump when it clicked off, so I started it again on the slow catch three times, two more than normal.
285.4 miles / 13.04 gallons = 21.9 mpg :supz:

Then drove up to Zion, IL to get some off-roading type stuff.

doyoulikeithere, too bad you're too far away. I'd love to take a subframe off of someone's hands. That way I could start fitting a V-8 in and upgrading the front suspension w/o dismantling mine.

My van has been been used occasionally, as the cycle gets priority in the summer. Saves gas = $$$ towards projects & vacations. Hopefully in Aug I can start putting some love towards it.

stripped out the old van. took the taillamps, all exterior emblems, and front door and dash switchs. also took the rear AC fan. gonna drain the gas tank (all 15 gallons of fuel) and then take it to the scrapyard at the end of the week. also tossed the factory buckets back in the old van (I have no use for smelly cloth marshmallows).
I also poled the new van (rear bumper) I backed into a concrete wall and put a dent in my back bumper. plastic bumper cover was undamaged. for now I just removed the bumper cover (popped out of the holders on top so rear doors wouldnt open). when it gets cooler I'll take an 8lbs sledge to the top of the bumper (need to flatten it back down).
other then that I've just been driving the new van. so far its been the most reliable vehicle I've owned. even the old safari wasnt as good (climate control was busted).

Get your self a small 4" angle grinder & 2 new bolts (greasable preffered) and be done in under 1 hour.
A little longer if you need to replace the bushings too...

I tried way too long to get them to come out properly. I ended up using a ball joint press to push them some of the way out, cutting the bolt between the head and the stock shackle and pushing what was left of the bolt back to the threaded side.

Wonder if an air hammer would have been able to knock them out. :-k
