Still trying to fix my bad idle issue...

tested the coil, all good, checked again for vac leaks with crab cleaner spray...could not find a vac leak??

removed idle air control valve, washed the gunk out of the valve port with carb cleaner, fitted new valve.

removed EGR valve, cleaned it up a little, re-fitted it with a new gasket.

re-routed all spark plug wires and fitted lots of new separators in an effort to reduce all arcing, looks way better and seems to have made a difference with the van idling on the driveway in park and Drive for a long period of time....road test tomorrow in the FL heat will be the real test!

I had a red safari GT.
I put a blue door on it last winter when the electric window went down , and stayed there.

I painted the entire van with a roller and flat black paint.
Now I have a flat black Safari GT.

Now why in the world would you ask that? :yellin: LMAO Of course he has plans for it, you think Deano can leave anything stock? I can name a few of the things he wants to do window vent visors, bug deflector, tranny cooler, bigger hitch, 4 inch lift, 30 inch tires oh and a good cleaning of the interior.

Did a LOF, replaced the air filter and cleaned the MAF. Cleared the check engine codes and filled it up for the first time.

Filled up for the first full tank and got exactly 16.00 MPG. Not bad for the stop and go hard driving that I tend to do. My truck would have gotten 10.5 for the same trips. That's a 50%+ improvement! :bounce: Also bought new idler arms, a transmission filter and gasket kit as well as a case of trans fluid. Will install next week.

Bought the sway bar bushing kits at Autozone a while back, finally got the chance to put them on, got passenger side installed, started drivers side and noticed they gave me wrong part. Had to put it back together with old parts and drive to store for an exchange...AUTOZONE WOULD NOT EXCHANGE THEIR PART! It does not fit an an astro, they gave me wrong part, and after much arguing they still refused to exchange, so I am boycotting them...and spreading the word about their poor customer service.
"BOYCOTT AUTOZONE!"
