Usually when you run an engine out of oil the bearings sieze up. I may have an old V6 laying around here or if you need a whole van for parts I can sell you my wifes 1990 Astro.

I agree with the bearings seizing.Sad part about it is even if you get her freed up,the clock is ticking for the needed repair anyways.

yup, just pop off the distributor cap and mark where the rotor was pointing ( I normally crank over the engine until it points 100% towards the front or back of the engine). Next pull out the distributor and look at the bottom. See that groove on the bottom of the distributor shaft ? It looks like the end of a slot screwdriver so grab your cordless drill and an extended slot bit ( or the oil prime kit from Princess Auto ) and go to it in the same direction that your distributor fires in.
The only problem you may have is putting the distributor back in and lining it back up with the slot for the oil pump as you have now moved it. If you put the distributor back in with the rotor facing the same way it was when you pulled it way just gently hand crank the engine over whilst someone gently holds down the distributor and it will fall into place once the keyway lines up again.

good luck

Working at the chevy plant as a engine tester we used to "steak" the distributor with a angle chisel where it would mark the intake and the distributor with a mark.We did that after setting the timing. That way if anyone had to take it out,you could put it back at the same timing.I you suggest you find TDC on number 1 cyclinder by putting your finger over number one spark plug hole and watching for the timing mark to be at -0-.Check to see if the distributor is at number one too.Once you have primed you engine with a 1/2 drill or better(smaller drills will bog down),take a long handle screw driver and line up the oil pump shaft so the slot goes front to back. The distributor will drop right back in.Check to make sure the distributor is still pointing to number one cyclinder on the dist cap.Line up the steak lines and tighten it down.Should have the same timing as before and fire right up.This is the best I could do to explain the process and I hope you get what I am saying.Good luck with your priming project,Gary.
