Well, maybe its just me.But, I don't want to crawl under my van and fight with a rusted spare hanger to change a flat. :-({|=
But at least it will hold a full size spare under there.

Its not just you. I am building a lite duty overland van. Imagine fighting that rusty dealeo while perched on a rock or in the mud or somewhere offroad in the outback. No thanks.

And like I said, I have ideas of putting a water tank under there (I just made you say underwear) and a heat exchanger for an exterior shower. :D

My spare tire carrier is a .......... liquid gas tank

Found this spare carrier....

.... and thought this could eventually be bolted directly on the door in a position that would allow the wheel to tilt just enough (before getting in contact with the bumper) for the hatch to open.

Any comments on this idea...?

BTW
My wife was in L.A. last week sent by her employer and guess what .....
I had Dan send a 2"-lift-kit to the hotel and now it's here.
That saved me A LOT of transport & taxes (import tax & VAT) \:D/

The rest is already waiting for the kit being installed...

This WE is gonna be great fun in getting all this running...

After that I will have to get all the mods approved and registered by accredited technical services. This will cost me around 350 Euro. )>)

Well, this is the way how it works here in Germany: no tech. mods whatsoever allowed without official approval by technical control (basically the same service that does the mandatory check every 2 years)

Very cool! I'm sending my order out this coming week sometime! \:D/
That spare tire carrier sounds like it would work okay, you going to try it?I'm going to try making something that attaches to the hitch. But that projects down the list a ways.
Like the look of your rims, look similar to the American Racing rims I'm putting on.
Good Luck with your Lift! :partyman:
