I would say right now Pioneer has some great radios. Kenwood and JVC are close behind. Alpine has slipped a bit over the last couple years, probably because of getting in with the big box retailers.
In my Scion I have the Pioneer double din indash 6 disc DVD changer AVH-P6800DVD. it is really a kick butt radio.
