Not sure about this.But didn't some of the newer vans have a 12v plug in the back somewhere?Maybe a option?Just guessing.

Yep the 12v wiring in the back is located drivers side near the rear AC - so thats not it... Beaten.... damn...

Are those wires Yellow and Brown?
Does your speaker on the piller near the roof work? If thats the colors, that could be where those wires should be.
I wonder if someone pulled those wires that should be at that piller speaker into the door? If you owned this from new though, then you'd know
I just noticed that you have a green and black wire there too? i think those are the colors, that would go to the key cylinder on the 97 and down vans to unlock the rear lift gate. maybe they didnt change the harness. I have a 98 parts van, but there it too much snow to get to it just yet. When I can I will take a look, now you got me wondering what it is!
