It's been about 3 years ago, but I saw a 4.3 with a 5 speed manual sitting in a junkyard. I believe it was an 88. Strange thing about it was that the engine had a smog pump. That's the only time I've ever seen an Astro with a smog pump, let alone a 5 speed.
I went back about a month later to see about buying all the manual transmission parts, but it had been crushed.
