Great pics everyone.......you know we all like pics :bounce:

Well, we finally well be getting some snow this weekend,so the playing I'll be doing will be pushing it around.

Have the winch set to be received in either the front or back of the truck now and will get some pics soon. It works great !!!!
Pulled Dean's rig into it's winter headquarters as the battery was flat and I wanted an excuse to try it.
Also helped a friend with a HUGH hungup pine tree.
TLow you need one of these :muhaha:

I took a day trip of my own into the snow, to check out some hot springs along the forestry roads near Pemberton.

At the deepest point, there was about a foot of snow, but the Astro handled it magnificently. I was surprised. We even passed a guy with a 4-Runner who was having trouble and had to put chains on.

Eventually, the snow was getting too deep and I didn't want risk getting stuck, as it was getting late in the day. I was able to turn it around on an incline without too much trouble.

On the way back, we saw some moose.

Anxious to see your set up. Sounds great.

Nice shots, TLessBe. I'm still suprised at how well the van does in the snow. I have not had a wheel spin yet. We have a foot of snow and our town is not able to handle the snow removal so its been a lot of fun to drive in for a change.

Might be time for a trip West or North....Those tent camping in the snow pics are awesome!

This is a rarity in Bellingham. We have a total of 16" right now, and our hill is a mess! =D> Once ayear it snows and may or may not accumulate, but its been snowing every few days and temps are down in the 20-30's. Luvin it!

The Land Rover guys from NWOS wanted to go out where we went last weekend, so I joined them. It was, ahem, deeper. Fiancee and myself, a LR Defender 90, a LR DII, the same Forerunner again, and my buddy in his Sportsmobile.

Just the road itself was deep and squirrely. The SMB slid off twice in an off camber section, luckily into the ditch, because there is a few off camber places leading over the edge.

We made it to the end of the road. I didn't venture off onto the side spurs this time, nor did the SMB. Everyone else went, but only one made it past where I went last week. Everyone got stuck, and every one had fun.

Then Brian and I parked the vans at the trailhead and, along with Jen, jumped into other vehicles, for a few minutes anyway.

None of us bothered to put on chains, so ...

All three winches were used at least once. Had one daisy chain multi tow. Weather was warm enough. Great people, fun conditions, fun rigs, good times.
A good time was had by all.

Thats it for my 2008. Its been a year and a week or so since my first post on ASV, enquiring about Astro vans and wether it would do what I wanted. I've had a great year since then. Met a lot of great people, been to a lot of great places that i otherwise would not have seen, and had a blast doing it. And I want to thank you all for all the great information, advice, and encouragement. What a great forum. You guys rock!
