Depends on what is wrong with the original. If it is just a pinion or carrier bearing issue, the 93 diff parts will work. The ring/pinion will also swap. The housings, axle bearings/seals and axle shafts will not swap.

That would be cool. First thing I looked at is my older one sitting in the driveway. Prop shaft bolt pattern is totally different. Might have one lined up in Mn. Working the angle that family from there can bring it to me for Christmas next week when they drive down. Waiting for more info from the dude there. Hey sxfx, where you at in Illinois? I'min Waverly. I live way up north by Chicago.

But if by any chance you are still interested in this unit. I can meet with you somewhere or on the 28th of Dec Im moving to California driving my van also :) So it wouldn't be a problem to swing by there hehe.

A question for you: If someone had a good older (like '93) front axle assembly, and wanted to put it in a newer (like '99) van, could you swap it in if you had the half shafts and drive shaft from the '93?

You'll need more than that.

Check this page that I put together.

Also this thread from when Grumpy needed a front diff.

Roy, the only part to add may be the hub bearing assemblies. They do show different part numbers based on years but I am not sure if the splined sections are different.

OK, cool, I'll add unit bearings to the list if/when I decide to mess with things. Since My wife put the kibosh on my getting her a full size AWD, I won't be fooling with the '99 for now. There's nothing wrong with it, other than the 3.42s, and 3.73s are easier to find on older vans. I may be able to just swap the internals anyway, from what I've read on here lately.

Thanks Man.

Can anyone tell me what ratio I have? It is a dog at 5500' where I live. 31" tires are not helping.

Wrong sticker. The one we need to see is located on the door jam.

It's either in the glove box or the passenger door jamb.

This is the sticker in the glove box. I am sure they are the 3.54 ratio. Really needs the 4.11's.
Thanks for all the help. What all does this tag tell you?

Each one of those codes tells you what parts were used when the vehicle was built.
