Well that's not good news... :yikes: I removed the pump today and got the bad motor out. The ACDelco kit is on the way. Hope I can make it work. This will REALLY be a bummer if I can't make it work somehow. How are they different?? #-o

Pump diameter was a different size. The Delco pumps have an additional fuel line that fills the assembly's pump.

Good luck.

Got my ACDelco unit in the mail on Friday. I didn't have time to put it in because I had to go out of town over night. I did match it up with the bad one I took out though and they look exactly the same. I'm going to install it tomorrow after church. I'll post some pics and let y'all know how it works out.

I got the new ACDelco pump installed in the aftermarket assembly with some slight modifications. It works great and I expect it to be working for a looong time [-o<

I took some pictures of what I did and when I get some time I'll upload them and post them to the board. It really wasn't that difficult. The diameter of the ACDelco pump
-vs- the one I took out was identical. If anyone needs the proceedure sooner just send me an email. Thanks for everyones help. My wife is happy so I am happy =D>

Glad it worked out for you Jim.

At about 50 bucks, it seems much cheaper than a full unit.

Looking forward to the pix.

Thanks, Jim

Popping this thread back up as I just ordered the same AC Delco rebuild kit from the same E-bay seller. I figure even if the pump in my van is not bad, it will be eventually!

The last pump I put in I was disappointed to find from Delco Tech they don't make a pump to the O.E.M.pressure spec's anymore. They said the pressure isn't important where the GPH is.I think they cheap out with a cross of a different model. Delphi still builds pumps with both specs.

When I was on AC Delco's site I noticed they don't give lifetimes any more. It's 12 months or 1,200 miles.Hummmm-got to be something up with that. :-k

I think Delphi is still lifetime.
