Been reading about the longest off road stretch in Moab, The White Rim Trail. I've read of 2" lifted Subarus doing it, so I don't think it should be too bad in the vans. Still I think I'll be replacing the rest of Grumpy's brake lines before trying it to make me feel safer.

Just read a story of a CJ losing its brakes on Black Bear Pass near Telluride, CO. Driver was able to stop his Jeep by running into the wall side of the trail. Scary stuff.

Amazing! It looks like it's fun, but from the pictures it doesn't seem to be too difficult. Then again, I've never really been off-road.

If you go up there for the scouting run as planned, can you get some videos?

My November pre-run plans are getting shelved. Grumpy's weak trans appears to be getting beyond what Lucas can help.

In case this will be usefull in replacing your brake lines, my 2000 Safari AWD just popped the long line from front to rear. In replacing, I figured it was the typical gm setup with 3/16 on the front and 1/4 on the rear. I was right...sort of. The long line is 1/4 at the axel, but has a 5/16 fitting under the driver's door at the (?) abs pump? I just had to piece this together. Maybe this will help someone.
Past vans: 1990 2WD SLE Safari, 1990 AWD SLE Safari, and 2000 AWD Safari SLE. Current, 2004 Astro AWD LS.
