I bought a new bumper fascia and a bunch of metal fab tools to make stuff for it. I also made some progress on my roof rack and determined that I have a huge fuel tank that only lets me use 2/3 of its capacity.

Took a look at the front tire that is going flat. Ate a valve stem. Need to figure out why the hell it's chewing tires funny. Thinking poly bushings and shocks.

I cut up a pile of steel with a sawz-all like a true "DIY Hero" for my roof rack. I can't wait to weld it all up and bolt it on. 'Cause I'm a bolt it on sort of dude.

Had the intake manifold gasket and thermostat replaced on the 94LT.Picking it up today.

Bought some vaseline, carb cleaner and tractor fluid today. Gotta get to work on the new gear box.

Discovered a leaking bypass cap on the radiator, sourced a replacement, plus coolant and fixed that leak!.
Bought some Pennzoil high mileage 10W40 and Purolator PureOne filter at the same auto parts store (Advance Auto Parts) with one of those mail in rebate thingys that i normally hate...decided to get over it, buy it and mail it in!....gonna treat the old smoker to some higher quality lube!

Carpooled to the Chrysler Proving Ground in the Astro as usual. This morning, a trucker drove out of the main gate with a load that was a little too high and wiped out the canopy that was there for nearly 50 years (about a third of the way down this page...)

No one was hurt, but it was an income altering event for someone. Eastbound on I94 there was a Ford pickup and his 30 foot RV trailer in the ditch all broken up, shards and shreds of wood and aluminum everywhere. Not a good day for trailers in southeast Michigan.
Astro now lives in a heated garage.

Sadly, I sold my number two Astro van that I wanted to make into a four wheeler when I bought it. It was a exact match to the one I still have, a 1989 RS, but my health said I would never get it done so I had an offer and away it went. Still hoping to finish the one I have. Don't hurt your back it will mess up your entire life.
1989 RS Astro, V-8 and maybe a shift it myself tranny, still deciding on this one. Dutch doors, Cad tail lights, shaving the rest now. 12 bolt rear end was in the van when I got it but changing how it sets to lower.

Tuesday I did a lube, oil and filter and also rotated the tires. Wednesday I filler her up again!
