being the weather was nice, I was off and had a spare 10 min on sunday .. I washed the wheels. yes, only the wheels.... didn't have time to get into the rest of the van. lol.. sad... really sad, i know. haven't been driving it much over the winter in the snowy crap and salt. on monday, i also took it for a nice drive to and from london (30min away) .. drove around there for most of the day and gave it a good hwy run home yesterday evening. i'll also be taking it to work today (4min drive lol) .. sunshine and 15C today (60F)

it's running awesome since the coil and starter were changed. starts as soon as the key is turned. smooth since the coil, idles at a proper level also. happy :D

I know-I know, this IS kind of scarcely, but I got off the couch and worked on the vans today. :yikes:

Got the LT up on jack stands to check out a shimmy I had in it.I swear I will never use anything but Moog idler arms again.I have replaced the driver's side already and although it's still within tolerance I am pretty sure the passenger side will need replacing sometime soon. The ball joints and tie rods are tight.Replaced a bald tire on the driver's side and that cured the shimmy.Took a look at a exhaust leak and found the exhaust crossover pipe gasket was leaking at the header.(or the crossover pipe is rotted close to the header.Couldn't see that well)That one I am going to let the shop handle because I am afraid I would break the studs.

Old Yellar's back-up lights never worked and it is due for inspection.Sooooo,I took off the taillight lens to see if the bulbs where burned out.Yeah right-this old guy is never that lucky.Found the lead at the tranny not plugged in.Kind of makes sense because the owner before me had the tranny rebuilt just before I bought it.Still couldn't get the back-up lights to light up.Got me wondering how hard it is to replace the sending unit at the tranny.Anyone got ideas about that??.It's a 1985 Astro.

Honestly felt good to get out and do alittle wrenching.Wasn't much, but alot more than I have done recently.Affirmed that couch ant all that. :muhaha:

i hauled a load of scrap in a coupla weeks ago.

then a friend of mine with an 03 cargo gave me a set of rear sensatracs that he used for a couple of weeks. said they rode too stiff for his van.

they're just right on mine. :)

replaced the inside rear door handle that's been broken on the van since i got it...now the rear doors close fully and don't rattle :bounce: hopefully that will take care of the water leak back there too...put in the distributor in between fixing some computers hope to have it running by next week, if all goes well [-o<

I strategically parked it so that I could look at it while i powerwashed the block retaining wall, the front driveway, and the front deck.

Tomorrow I'll park it strategically so i can look at it while i powerwash the back deck, the back driveway, and the humongous back patio.

Might just have been a car cover to keep the dust off of it.... (Of course I'd need to get my wife to put that on too... )
