do either of the above posted devices monitor transmission temperatures? i'm debating on whether to buy one of these or to go with the dual temp sensor with my existing trans temp gauge.

The ScanGaugeII shows transmission temp as a programmable gauge. I'll try to remember to test that feature in the near future.

I have a vac gauge I'm going to mount inside the cabin and see if I can't monitor my driving habits. Any suggestion of what line to tap into?

It works on OBDII, not OBDI. Your van has OBDI.

I know some guys with newer F150s who have tried the Maxtrip and it caused a bunch of problems for them. It does not seem as well supported as Scan gauge either.
