Engine is getting painted tonight,
I painted the timing cover & installed a new seal.
Stephanie is masking as we speak,I just took the pics 5 mins ago.

Painted.Old oil pan/filter & valve covers make great masking tools.
The paint shows up orange under shop lighting,It's actually cherry red.

Waterpump,Oil pan,Harmonic balancer painted.
Just have to clean up the top area of the intake &
the engine is ready for final assembly.

Oil pan/Timing cover,Waterpump,Harmonic balancer installed with new gaskets/Hardware.
Painting the Intake tomorrow,Picking up new valve covers on Monday.

Intake painted tonight using high heat silver & VHT clearcoat.
The finished product is being cured now.
There has been a delay in recieving the new valve covers
But I have been assured they will be in this Monday.
Next up is trans service,filter,pan gasket,vette servo,Paint.

Always like to see pics of a motor build. Nice job,,keep um coming.
Know I've said this before but it sure is nice that GM kept some things the same for so long. For you younger guys, which is just about all of you,,see those 2 bolt holes on each lower side of the chain cover,,those bolt holes have been there since the first Chevy V-8,,the 265 cu.in. and they were for the front motor mounts in the 55 Chevy. Front mounts dropped in 58 I believe but never changed the mold. So, if ya happen to want a late model small block in a 55, all you need are the front mounts plates, no adapters needed.
