i agree with ya gary ,im going to contact a local engine rebuilder today and get a ballpark price on getting it rebuilt, right now i have the bottom stuff all removed/unhooked just have to unbolt it from the trans, and start removing stuff from the front,grille rad support condenser rad shroud rad fan , all wiring and other hoses. good thing i have the next few days off , i already have a plan for pulling the engine out, its geinus youll see what i have up my sleeve , remeber im doing this outside in my snow/dirt driveway.

Man I feel for you. Hope the weather cooperates. I agree on going trough it, why go through all the work of pulling it and installing it if your not going to fix it right.

I pulled mine twice thanks to the cam wipe out. That stunk, had to do the whole thing twice, motor and all.

well i called the local engine rebuilder today and almost had a heart attack the quoted me around $2300 to rebuild it , im going to call around for a used one .

Yeah-that does seems kind of high.I thought at one point I priced out a Jasper at $1,750 with a three yr or mileage deal.I would keep shopping machine shops.

thanks i forgot about car-part but theres nothing close to me , im wating to hear from a local yard where i got my tranny from.
what vechiles can i steal an engine from that will work . did camaros come with 4.3l

I believe you are looking at s-10's 1500 pickups and astro/safari's .... camaro's came with 2.8 / 3.1's... but you could swipe a 5.0L from one

Yeah,but TB doesn't want the extra expense of a V8 swap right now.

Some buddy has got to have a 4.3 close to him.

I do have one but it isn't close LOL

Unless you have a few months in which case I could get my buddy to tow it there or meet up on his back out to BC in a couple of months as he is coming back here for few soon.
