Ok so it's been a while since I posted any updates, but I have been working on it. Getting ready for another round of upgrades before it goes into the paint shop. Ok enough yapping I know you guys want pics.
Here are the passenger side door locks being shaved.

Also shaved all the trim holes and roof rack holes.

I built these copper welding spoons to make the job quicker and am very pleased with how well they worked. Cheap too.
Image
Image

To weld all the holes the interior had to come out. Gotta come out for paint anyway so...

Image

And what have I been doing all this time instead of posting pics for you guys?
Going to the Rolex 24 hours! Slept in the van, dragged the cooler in the lowered radio flyer I built. Been going for years, wasn't gonna miss this one with the new fresh pavement at Daytona International.
Image
Image

What else have I been up to? Well building some bad ass cars for other people. Like this one we just finished.
Image
Image
Image

Well that brings me to where I am now. Pile of parts to throw at the van.
Image

MSD cap, rotor, wires, coil, and tbi spacer.
Image

Tranny gets a shift kit, 2nd and 4th servo upgrade, line pressure upgrades, and royal purple in the high capacity aluminum tci pan.
Image

Front brakes upgrade to 3/4 ton chevy calipers.
Image

Airlift helper spring kit, along with the new shorter bags to fit with the lowered suspension. Also Bel Tech front and rear swaybars.
Image
Image
Image

Gotta start working on all of the interior pieces that are piled up in the garage too. Ugh...when does it end?
Image
Image
Image

Oh yeah found the new wheels I'm gonna run.

Just kidding!!! I'll keep you guys posted.

Hey, I am purchasing these same wheels for my stock Astro. Do you have any problems with the wheels? I am also doing 20x8.5 in the front, and 20x10 in the rear. My concern is rubbing and the size of the hub bore. Mine is a 2000 as well..I'm not sure if this will make a difference.

I know its been a while but believe me i have been working on it. Just boring stuff you wouldn't want pics of. I did the big brake (3/4 ton) brake upgrade. added belltech sway bars front and rear, replaced the motor mounts, replaced every piece of the a/c system (most of them twice, don't ask). What a pain in the ass, but i live in Florida so I have to have good a/c. Also added an electric fan in front of the condenser too. Now I have icecicles hanging from the vents. I love it. Shaved the rest of the trim posts and smoothed out alot of the bodywork welds. Pretty much ready to go to paint in the next couple weeks. The stuff i did that you might wanna see is the custom double din dash kit.

Also had one of my buddies out in Cali make me a custom "air freshener"

I saw this beast creeping up behind me one day and thought i'ld share. Cool looking rig and we both checked out each other's van, thumbs up salute, and keep riding.

Some pics while i was driving behind it one day. I love when someone else drives my car and i can see what everyone else sees when i roll around town.

Next stop is the paint shop, i'll keep you posted.

Finally getting it to my friends body shop this weekend!! Gonna get the rear end bodywork started before we take it all apart for paint after the Rolex 24. Gotta keep it driveable until then. Pictures as they happen. Promise.

Yeah me too. I got off to a great start and then the tail end of 2011 derailed my plans. But things are moving now.

Taillights are starting to get smoothed out.

One side of the truck is starting to get close.

I was thinking of doing Dupont Hot Hues Jazzy Blue over Silva with Corvette ZR1 Cyber Gray as a stripe color. But after looking at the colors sprayed out I think I may do the blue over the cyber gray. What do you guys think?
