That's OK, currently I hope to do this rally more than once.

Grumpy is equipped with AC, however the blower currently doesn't go. I plan on fixing this because I hear it gets rather warm on the southern part of the rally.

You know, junk yards have used AC parts. What's wrong with yours?

Sounds like you need to start a thread in COOLING SYSTEM AND RELATED.

Dang, had the realization that the Check Engine light didn't light during ignition on this morning so I ran it by AutoZone to check for codes. It's has a couple.

P0753: 1-2 Shift Solenoid - Electrical
P0171 and P0174....running lean, cylinder mis-fire

Hopefully it won't take too much work to fix, but Green needs to get going first.

Had a defueling event on the way home from work today, very careful throttle control managed to bring Grumpy home. Don't know if I want to try driving it to work tomorrow, took me forever to obtain highway speed. It might make it on the surface streets. Maybe I should just ride my road bicycle.

Wussed out and stayed home today and wouldn't you know it Greens pump arrives at work. I'm going to steal my wifes Jeep after her lunch to go get it. Once Green is rolling Grumpy will take residence in the garage, hopefully my wife won't complain too much since it will be out of site.

Grumpy refuses to start, got a nice loud pop and pretty white smoke from the throttle body on my second starting attempt. I could only get it to grumble with the starting fluid. Hopefully I can get it pushed into the garage after work tomorrow. Not expecting the pump rebuild kit till next week though.

All my teammate prospects have dried up, Grumpy's fuel pump has weakened to below running pressure, and my Husky had to be put through heartworm treatment (not cheap). I'm broke. It really pains me, but I won't be able to attend the BA/BE Rally in 2008. This really sucks, I've been wanting to do this for two years now. Hopefully I'll be able to get things together for 2009.

Repairs and painting of Grumpy will continue as planned. A scary cheap fuel pump assembly rebuild kit (found on eBay for $30) will be installed sometime within the next week just to get it going again. Plan is to enter it in some local gimmick rallies. Hopefully through these local rallies I'll find more like minded individuals that would want to go on next year's BA/BE Rally.

Hey, what are your thoughts on attending next year since I couldn't persuade you into going this year?

Grumpy will be making its first Car Show appearance May 17th at the South Elgin, IL High School Fund Raiser Auto Show.

Wonder if I should/can clean the carpets before then.

It's not a nice van, it's beat and dirty, it's a POS. It's just something put on by a local high school as a fund raiser. Plan is to have a poster board telling about its purchase, cheaply done fixes, and paint concept. I'm thinking of getting some red masking tape to temporarily put the stripe on it. Mostly doing this to find team members for the 2009 BA/BE Rally.

The scary cheap fuel pump is in and Grumpy is now able to start without starting fluid. :supz:

Next I'll be attacking an oil leak that it has. Appears to be the common leak from the oil cooler adapter.

It will be interesting to see how long the scary cheap fuel pump lasts.

With your wife's new lift kit on her jeep you most likely can forget about mods for Grumpy.
