My wife was pleased ...

... Bummer after just doing the intake gasket work, oh well i guess it'll be easier now that the motor it out,lol
... is this the infamous man they call Roy?
...Havin the wife happy is 99.99% of the battle :D :supz:
Yes, serious bummer, and yes, I have a good idea about the '99 after the intake, and also I'm practicing today by dropping the subframe out of my '91 to steal the oil pan.

I admit, that is I, aren't I adorable?

And I hope my wife is still happy when I get the new "4.3" in the pic installed in her van. Do all 4.3s has 5.7 on the back of the block on the left side?
Yes IIRC they do....... they also have 8 spark plug wires, 8 intake ports , 8 exhaust ports and 8 pistons.

friday .. 99: had the ujoints checked, seem ok, trans fluid may need a drain and filter change. still hasn't had that delay and light clunk again.

satuday 93: got a deposit on the 93 and dropped it off to it's new owner this morning collecting the balance

so... as the line goes: ".. and then there was one"

installed an ipod connector on the radio in the 87, now I can just fire up Pandora or iHeart radio on my iPhone and pump it through the vans stereo system instead having to use earphones. and no dealing with one of those crappy FM tranmitters for mp3 players...

Sunday between rain storms: oil change, adjusted the steering gear, re-torqued the front sway bar end links.

drove the 87 back from Oklahoma to Houston, lost the serpentine belt in Corsicana. Was able to nurse it into a hotel parking lot. Called the local Corsicana TX O'Reilly's and the delivered a belt and a gallon of anti-freeze to me at the hotel. I had my tools with me and installed the new belt and drove home without any further incident.

Spent yesterday replacing the fuel pump on the 95. Actually went pretty easy all things considered. Changed the pump, screen and fuel filter in about 4.5 hours with a break for lunch.

Sunday one of my friends asked me to help them move a swing-set that they found on CL. Went to start Grumpy and it wouldn't lite. It's been rainy lately, so I'm guessing it's a cap and rotor issue. Green was used instead. My friend was quite impressed that we got everything in without removing any of the seats and even more impressed that the van averaged over 22 mpg (better than her Caravan) during this service.
