My one and only eight track that I had, I put into a 50 Plymouth and after playing about four tapes. It started to eat them for snacks. I took it out and back to the store I bought it from, and because it was installed, I couldn't get my money back. In front of the store and a bunch of customers who were watching, I placed it under my front tire and crushed it with my Plymouth. I don't think anybody that watched this ever bought an 8 track after that.

I remember when they were an option on a new car. My last 8-track was Cheap Trick Live at Budokan.

M<y dad still has his "removable" 8 track system that he had in his truck, along with about 3 cases of tapes. They have a console stereo one too, not sure if it works or not, did last time it was hooked up...good 10-15 yrs ago. I think he has some old Elvis, first Tanya Tucker, Statler Brothers, Oakridge Boys...okay, I got to stop now!
