simple easy question. i was asked to pick up 20 bundles of shingles. would the 95 awd like it or no? what would a bundle weigh? 30-40lbs? x 20, so roughly 800lbs. that shouldn't be an issue, would it. it seats 7 adults.

I don't think it would complain too much. I've loaded 8 adults, 9 MTBs, everyone's gear, and a few cases of beer in my past two vans, guessing around 2000 lbs. Van's rode a little low on the back, but transported the load from Chicago to Cleveland and back on many occasions.

Just found a site that says bundles weighs about 70 lbs, so you maybe looking at 1400 lbs. It's doable.

try to balance the load as much as you can and you should be fine, keep the majority of the bundles up close towards the drivers seats to keep it centered in the van.

Carry 20-30 square ( 60-90 bundle) up a ladder and then ask how much they weigh...you'd be saying like 200#'s :muhaha: I would try to get most over the rear axle or in front of it, but should carry, hopefully you got steel springs.

I've moved 27 bags of shingles in my 93 and it was fine with composite leafs at that. Also the company that did my roof ran solely on M-vans aside from the truck that moves the dumpster.

I do have the composite springs. however i just used one of the fire apparatus instead. (ford f-550 chasis). that didn't seem to have much of a problem. i had to pick up a few other items as well.
it is nice to know that if i ever encounter this again, i'll know what the van should be able to handle.

thanks everyone! =D>
