Switch out door chimes?

Post by ScoobyDoo82 »

Im not sure if this is the right place for this but is it possible to switch out door chimes? I have the annoying buzzer and would like to have the chime that was in the 86 Caprices. This particular chime was in a bunch of other GMs but I was wondering IF I could switch them out and what car should I take the chime out of to make it easier to install on my van. Also, is it anyway at all to switch to a Ford chime? For instance, the chime that was in the 89 Escorts and Tempos

Heres an example of the chime I want, in this case its in a 94 Cheyenne

I just unhooked mine, it was a little red box with a plastic plug connection. It had holes for the little speaker. I found it behind the headlight switches.
