Keep on truckin-80s music for the soul

Life doesn't always work out the way we want it to. Our friends and family irritate us, get sick or pass away. Our dogs do the same sometimes. Work isn't always (ever?) a fun place to be. People don't always get along. The sun doesn't always shine when we want it to. The car isn't invincible. Schedules change. People change. Situations change. All that we can change are our reactions. Point being, my life isn't going exactly like I want, but all I want to do is listen to Loverboy right now at an unreasonable volume. Why this urge hit me, I will never know...but I am still smiling, still going, still truckin. I hope you are too, With love from the evergreen state.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

All time fav. trucking song by C.W. McCall " Wolf Creek Pass" Never forget a buddy of mine and I were cruising around Pensacola drinking Jim Beam and that song came on,,had to pull over we were laughing so hard. :muhaha:

Clearence marker read to the 12 foot line, we had chickens stacked to 13 9, shot that tunnel at a hundred and ten, like gas through a funnel and eggs through a hen, took that top row of chickens off slicker than scum off a Louisiana swap.

Hang in there Wack,,it'll get better for sure.

A twelve foot underpass will make a convertible out of everything on the top row of a car hauler, too!! :yikes: :dunce:

Some very good choices. I listen to pretty much every genre of music but yesterday I was all about the crappiest 80s stuff I could find. It made my day. Today I think I am going country (I am from the woods after all). Plus it seems fitting....my dog died my truck died and the man is trying to get me down, hah.

Why don't you buy me a drink while I dance with your wife.
She's acting single and I'm drinking doubles.
Been there a couple of times.

Ya know, if you play country music backwards, you get all that stuff back!

Are you gonna listen to 80's country? Now that's crappy. 80's music brings back some good memories for me. Talking along the lines of Loverboy that is.

Sorry to hear things arn't going so well dude.

When I'm blue I blast and I mean BLAST some Ramones or some rancid or pretty much any punk music at full volume and just rock out. One song that always cheers me up,

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Does a punk version of a song my mother used to play for me on her guitar when I was little.

It's "my favourite things."

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

The song is actually from the original Broadway production of the sound of music.

potskie, is your mother Julie Andrews? I love her.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Even though the sound of it is simply quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough, you’ll always sound precocious
