At the very least, I'd reduce his allowance to only $2,000/week 'till he had the car scratches all buffed out

holy moley. I had to make a call like that to my dad when I was 17, but it was just a '76 caprice stationwagon.
I can't even imagine. It'd be like, uh dad I burned the house to the ground. btw, eventually I did manage to get my dad's boot removed from my posterior.

If you give your kid your Ferrari, can you really be surprised when it gets wrecked? Like who couldn't see that happening. Hate to be a hard ass but no sympathy here.

Make the kids buy their own cars. That way they will be beating the can off their own money and not yours. If you buy your kid any kind of high powered car your asking to have a corpse for a child. Sorry but the kids need to learn resposibility such as if you break it you have to pay to fix it or go without.
