Well, I actually use GIMP cause it's free and I'm cheap.

I'm not a good image editor, but here's what I do.

I go to Next Wheels and make a van the color I want, Alt+Print Screen, Paste into GIMP as new image/layer. Every color van equals a new layer in GIMP. If I know I'll edit a color, I create a copy layer of that layer to edit, lets me easily go back to the beginning if needed. Then I arrange the layers in some illogical order, that allows me to erase and see a different color layer below. If I'm adding color, pre-made graphics, or text, they all get their own layer, just so I can screw it up a few times without hurting anything else.

So that's my improper way of messing images up.

Eugene? LOL... read your sig made me laugh
I have two '96 cherokees. one I bought new, 180K miles on it. It still kicks butt. original engine and trans. one I bought used 120K miles on it. needs some work. The 180K jeep is bert, the 120K jeep is ernie. My 'stro is the "pig"
My son has the space shuttle version of photoshop, which I cannot begin to operate. I think I need this gimp program. sounds just like my speed. I keep thinking about various driveway paint jobs and color schemes, but I need something to help me visualize. My van looks godawful rat now. the paint is eroding.
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

name's Steve
I can't remember all I've forgotten about that....

Wife still doesn't like Linux, so my computers are still XP SP2. With the exception of the desktop, which dual boots XP or Linux.

LOL had the same problem with my GF. So I just switched everything to Ubuntu and said nope not going back after about 2 days of whining she got the hang of it and now loves it. Only my laptop runs XP (dual boot) anymore so we can use I tunes with our IPODS because well IPOD support is rather lacking for FOSS currently.

You should do a Ghostbusters themed one, GMC Denali, WW1 or 2 plane theme (picture below). I'll do these next week when the G.F. leaves for europe.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but is there any way you can do a few two tone (black on top of side body line and silver or candle apple on the lower and do a few lazy curves on the dividing line between the two colors along side ? You can also make the line anywhere on the side. Just trying to get an idea of how the two tone and curves might look on my van.

I'll get on it as soon as I can. Just swamped this week. P.S. Black and red two tone is a really cool combo on the van, as well as gray/silver/gunmetal.
