leaky leaky...........dammit

found out that where the front driveshaft enters the front diff is leaking. is this a hard job, or just time consuming?
when it was in the shop for an alignment, the mechanic claimed that he worked for gm for quite some time, and he said that was normal. could this be why he now works for another company?????
