Fluid type?

Post by afsigma21 »

OK, I am now gathering parts to start getting my Safari Project rolling.

I notice there are TONS of Tranny Fluid types. I know I want full synthetic.

Do I need ATF, ATF+4, Mercon, MerconV, Dexron etc etc.

I have to use Mercon V in my Fords, but I am sure that is not what I need in the Strofari.

1997 Safari Conversion, stock at the moment.

Yup Dexron 3 is what you need...or the equivalent in synthetic. You can use Amsoil universal ATF.
