which years of astro safari vans had rev limiter???
bryan in oklahoma i have a 1992 chevy astro with 174,000 miles runs and drives very good with a couple of issues nothing major future mods: 350 smallblock v-8 simple and easy!!, tach, rims and others!!current mods:15%tinted windows

how would you hook up a regular tach on these vans mine is a 1992 TBI astro

You will find an extra wire coming from the plug on your coil. That is for a tach. No rev limiters untill at least the late nineties if at all.

what color is the wire and is it loose

I seem to recall it may be white ? but i've been known to be wrong :muhaha:

thank-you i think it is a white wire too but is it a wire kind of like the fuel pump test wire? by the fuel pump relay so do i have to splice in to it or can i just connect it to my tach?

It's a white wire with a black stripe. You should splice the wire as this wire also sends a 12v square wave rpm signal to your PCM. Depending on your choice of tachs you may need to hook up a tach signal booster as your tach will use some of the energy required for the rpm signal to your PCM. Tach signal boosters are availiable through MSD.

what is the redline on the 1992 4.3liter TBI engine in my van?
