not going to be around

Post by skippy »

As some of you know i'm having Gastric Bypass surgery on the 26th of this month , so after that i probably won't be on here for a few days . I'll have Debby post on how i made out & if everything went ok with it . they say i'll be down for about a month but i doubt it will take that long (at least i hope so ) but they're taking my gall bladder at the same time so i might be down that long . but once i can sit comfortably in my chair i'll be posting again & let you all know how i'm doing .

as of right now on the diet they have me on i've lost 134 lbs & it feels great to be able to live a somewhat normal life again . can't wait to have surgery & loose more .

petey , this means no more of skippys great cooking at NECO but i'm sure i'll whip up something good for potluck . ( don't worry guys it won't be anything m,ade of tofu or spinach !!!) :muhaha: :muhaha: :muhaha: :muhaha:

Take care guys & thanx for all the well wises so far .

134 lbs. Man, you're doing great Skipster. Will be in our prayers on the sugery. All will be good.
After you get all this over with and you're all slim and trim just be sure not to come down here to the beach, like all the other northerners, wearing a black Speedo. Pleeeese don't do that. :muhaha:
Take care man and keep us up to date.

We need a special thread just for your lost weight each week. Great job ! :bounce:

Hey Skippy,
My friend at work had it done a while back and he was almost 100% after abouth three weeks. 134 pounds shows you got the will and determination to get this taken care of and I wish you the best of health. Let us know how it goes.

PS. After my friend had his done he lost his diabetes too. No more Insulin for him (bonus). I don't know if it applies to you, but it is one less worry.

My mom had her gallbladder out and was about 6 weeks recovering. She got the big slice thou so if they are doing yours laproscopic then you might be a little faster. Just take it easy and give yourself enough time to recover you don't want to pop anything by trying too much.

WOW! 134 lbs? That's incredible, Skipster. And you lost that weight WHILE stopping smoking as well? That in itself is a contradiction in terms....
I've also heard stories about how people no longer suffered from Diabetes after losing alot of weight. Hope that's the case for you too.

One thing though, and I'm kinda uncomfortable bringing it up. You made great sacrifices to lose weight, I get that. Going for gastric bypass is definitely gonna help as well, no doubt. But removing your gallbladder just to lose a bit more weight? Sorry, that's just sad. I figure you can't lose much more'n 5-8 ounces. Is it really worth it? :muhaha:
