Welcome to the site, Ben. For a first post that's a dandy. Thanks. That will help a lot of guys. That resistor failure is quite common. \:D/

No problem, it's a pleasure to freely contribute to this site.
I have some other procedures in the work, I'll have time to work on it during Xmas vacations.
Happy holidays everyone!
Ben

I carried the whole assembly into Radio Shack and was gonna try to get some of the individual
resistors but they said they didn't have any of them.
I got the assembly out of a junked van and I have all but Hi speed on the blower now.
Anybody ever tried to replace the individual components?
I already know I need the Hi speed for my A/C this summer.
Any way to rig up a switch just for Hi?
I got a 93 with the TBI.

High speed is a relay on the passenger side of the firewall (the larger one). You can purchase it aftermarket, but it won't mount where the old one is. Bite the bullet and purchase a replacement relay from the stealership.

I installed the aftermarket style in my 89 using a 1/4 inch nut and bolt.

It doesn't have the same kind of clip that the OEM relay had, but there's no problem with space or anything.

How come you didn't star on Star Trek?
Because Clint Howard beat me for the part of Balok.

Lumpy, the 8th character in my vin is Z. I think that means TBI instead of PFI.
I used to know for sure but I got CRS now.
My resistor pack is on the other side of that duct and under the metal behind the hood.
I just looked at the hi speed relay, it is easy enough to get to. I,ll price one here in a few minutes. Thanks.
I used to be on here under another name but can't remember what it was. I had a computer crash a couple of years ago and last everything on it and had to join again.
That's the reason for the name dangit.

I’m new to this forum, thanks for having it. This will be a great help to me. What I have is a 95 Astro and my blower only works on high. I am assuming that I need to replace my fan blower resistor, would this be the same procedure I use for a 95.

That grey electrical thing in the lower right of Lumpy,s picture is the connector to the resistor pack which is inside the duct below.
Mine is on the other side of that duct and would be out of the picture but it is the same, only in a different place.
