Dumb question for all you manual 2 speed t-case owners. How much noise is normal when you're running in 4Hi?

I never noticed any sound that wasn't there in 2wd.

Why, what are you hearing?

Ya my truck doesn't make any extra noises except the bang of the hubs engaging when I shift it while doing more than 40.

I don't recall the SPB ever making more noise in 4HI except that the u-joints were not parallel and would vibrate at 50 mph and higher. My truck which has a NP271 2 speed case is quiet at 50 mph in 4HI, same as in 2HI.

Thanks for the replies. The dealership couldn't find anything and just told me that it may be normal--they suggested maybe difference between manual t-case and electronic one (mine is manual). My thinking is i should train the t-case and see if the fluid has any metal in it... Anyway, at least both 4 hi and 4 lo seem to work. Just extracted a Ford Explorer from drift with a nice drop on the edge of the road... :)

Just about every 4x4 vehicle I have ever owned makes a bit of extra noise in 4x4 mode. Not extreme, but with an extra axle and driveshaft spinning, it isn't uncommon. But it shouldn't much.
