'93 sliding door repair

Post by Cooper24 »

Unfortunately the rollers on the door wore out over the years and ended up busting the post that the door locks onto. It flops around, but I can get it to latch enough to hold it closed. I need to fix the door so I figured that the best thing to do is fix all the rollers first. Anyone know where I can get the replacement rollers for the door??? Also, any suggestions for fixing the post? I haven't started on it yet, but thinking I may need to weld it. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

I would make a plate bigger than the piece that broke out. replace rollers adjust door than weld the plate in place as far as the rollers go any savage yard or dealership.

i just called the stealership to inquire about the rollers since i need to do the same thing to my 87. They don't sell the rollers seperate, you have to get the whole bracket which includes the roller. Aparently there are 4 brackets 1 top, 1 bottom and 2 middle. the only ones my dealer could get were one of the middle ones and the the bottom one for $85 and $110 respectively....

there has gota be a way to just replace the rollers.

anyone got a slider off the van with the brackets/rollers still attached that can supply pics?

i wish i could find some more info on these rollers and replacing them, because if I'm going to put a new transmission in the van, then i'm in for the long haul and need that door to stopp ratteling. I wish I could just weld it shut but I need it to open and shut...
