lift the rear end with leftover flip kit parts?

Post by 356redux »

Hey guys i just lowered my 92, composite rear, astro with a bell tech flip kit. I didn't use the hanger extensions or the longer shackles that are designed to lift the van back up after flipping it. i went for the full 6" drop with a c notch. I'm wondering if you 4x4 guys can use them to lift the rear. If someones interested in em, hit me up.

Thanks for the offer, but my rear is set; it's my front that I may still want to raise.

Anyone else?

Ya, I think I could use them. Write me back and lets discuss the brackets. Is it very similar to the lowering brackets in the pic?

Yeah the shackles are the same. But the front extensions are designed to lower the existing leafspring mounts down lower. Same concept as the pic just looks different. heres a link to an installed kit for reference. the shackles lower the rear mount and the front hanger spacers lower the front mount. Should be good for a 3" drop I think since the flip kit is a 6" when not using these parts and only a 3" when using them.

It's all in fun.............we just think it's ridiculous to ban linking to other sites that may have some real good info that will help someone. This site is all about helping our Astrosafarian brothers and sisters. Keep us posted on your build. It sounds great. I'm in Orlando also. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. \:D/

I saw that you were in town and stumbled accros your rack conversion thread. Very impressed. I would love to do that, but i just spent a bunch of dough on a full moog front end rebuild along with polygraphite bushing replacement while doing the lowering. At least i know what i'll be doing next time my idlers need to be replaced. What part of town are you in?
