Trans temp gauge wiring

I will start this saying I can and have done wiring before, but have always struggled and had help as well. I am installing my Trans temp gauge, and while installing the sensor was extremely easy due to Dean pics in the Trans section in the cooler discussion. I am getting to the wiring part, and installing the pillar pod for that matter. The one wire is straightforward enough, it runs from the sensor to the gauge. I am wondering where to tap into the power and lights. Any easy wires that I can patch into or is there some other way?

I should have picked up two of these when I was in London but forgot. I checked at Canadian Tire and they wanted $16.99 for one. I can almost get two for the price of one at Princess Auto. Hopefully they have them in stock.

I had to run into princess auto today and while I was there I picked up what I needed to hook up the wires for the trans temp gauge. It looked like everything was working until I turned the lights on to see if the light inside the gauge was working. Then the needle jumped higher. I am 90 % sure I have all the wires going to the right place. Could it be a ground issue? After some checking, I found the ground wire was the culprit and with a little more work got a good ground and all is well. Now the only transmission thing left is the seal where the drive shaft attaches.
