Love the new van......

Post by leadtrombone »

I have had my 99 Safari for about 2 months now. LOve it. Busted a wheel in a spinout that met with a curb a month ago and having pains to find replacement factory wheels (within reasonable price. 400$ for a new chrome wheel.... no thanks.)

Its great can get my fam and my extended fam in for long trips and still be oderatly comfortable. And can still park it like a mini(almost).

Looking to fix the AC vents (vacuum hose) and the window regulator and the door lock actuators. And of course the wheels.

Looking forward to safariing around.

Welcome to the board. Try the local auto wreckers for a rim. But you might be able to get a whole set of rims aftermarket for less than one rim from the dealer.

now I have to wonder what has happened to my mind. I read that as "led" trombone vs. "leed" trombone.
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

These days it is a bit of the latter.. Though at one time it was the former..

to the end of the wheels. Yeah!! :yikes: ... the dealer wanted 415$ for one chrome style rim. I just bought 4 brand new aftermarkets, shipped for 445$.

And the pick a part yards are a bit scarce on the american parts round here. Mostly the local stuff.

Over in europe BTW. lots of BMW parts to be had though. old stuff though..
