Cruise Control Module repair?

Somewhere I thought there was a thread on how to fix the cruise control module.

Am I losing my mind?

Anyway, cruise has quit on the 95 Astro. Wife.com is unhappy. $400 for the part makes me unhappy.

All electrical connections seem fine. I have power to the module. But it won't hold speed.

Suggestions?

Head to the salvage yard. I wrecked the generic module in my wifes Explorer. Don't ask....another story for another time. The dealer wanted $273.00 for a new one. The guys at the salvage sold me one for $25.00.

Finally got the replacement part. Now how do I get this thing apart? Looks like there are 2 separate connections of the cable. But I cannot figure out how this comes apart...

Anyone???

OK. Well it's easier than it looks!

First, unhook the throttle cable that runs from the cruise module to the throttle body.

Next, unbolt the cruise module from the firewall.

Next, you will need two screwdrivers to press in the tabs on the cable which lead to the module. Once you have this out, there is a "tape" which hooks over the end of the cable that leads to the throttle body.

Install is reverse. I need to get some pictures and post...
