I am building a 1989 safari with the front frame, rear axle, antilock brakes & all that from a 1992 safari GT that was totaled.
I will bring up some pictures over the next couple days.
Recently bought a 1989 Astro RS from Florida. Replaced stock engine witha 1997 5.7 vortec with TBI and replaced transmission with rebuilt 700R4 with mild shift kit.
Bought on Monday the 16th of April 2012

+1 on "we love pics."
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

I'm interested to hear about your project. I recently needed a daily driver to use while I work on my project, and picked up a 90 Safari GT. Did you get the rear sway bar from your GT?

I got the rear sway bar but its missing the end links.
